One of the things that is so fun about EZRC Airplanes is that you get to build them yourself. It's easy, and for people that enjoy making stuff, it's really fun. But, building your own airplane can become frustrating if you have to go through a bunch of trial and error trying to figure out exactly which parts you need and where to buy them. For example, this year I can spend half as much money and buy better components for a new airplane than I could have last year. Why? It took me a long time to fiture out what is good and where it's cheap.
Help Building the Airplane
The word is getting out that hand-built, electric, foam RC airplanes are the way to go; but the problem is that nobody is available to show you how to do it. Some websites offer airplane plans and parts for sale, but then what? Once you have airplane plans, foam, and parts in your hands, you've got to figure out how to put them all together. Some Flying Instruction
Even with the perfect airplane, it takes most people a few flights to get the hang of things. I would recommend that if you have a friend who can tell you a few tricks about flying that you ask for some help. The last two people that I have given a little instruction to were flying "The Griffin". In both cases, I flew the airplane up to a pretty high altitude and handed the joystick over to them. They flew figure eights, did loops and rolls, and landed the airplane on their own without any help from me.
